About Us
David Bolwell Physiotherapy Services have extensive experience of dealing with muscle, soft tissue and joint conditions, along with sports injuries and post-surgery rehabilitation.
All of our physiotherapists have BSc (Hons) degrees and have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in advanced physiotherapy techniques. They also have many years of hands-on treatment experience. All are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and the Health Professional Council.

David Bolwell BSc (Hons)
David qualified with a BSc (Hons) degree in 1998. Since then, he has gained extensive experience working within both the NHS and private sector. This experience includes the treatment of elite athletes and professional sports teams whilst working in Cardiff Metropolitan University (formerly UWIC) and a local private hospital. Prior to establishing his own practice, David led a team of forty physiotherapy staff in his role as a Superintendent Physiotherapist.David is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Emma Kirby MSc Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Since qualifying in 2006, Emma has gained experience in various physiotherapy specialities both in private settings and as a senior physiotherapist in the NHS. To reinforce this knowledge, Emma has completed a master’s degree in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy.Sarah Gardner MSc Advanced Physiotherapy
Like Mary, Sarah is both a Senior Physiotherapist within our practice and an extended scope practitioner (ESP) within the Cardiff and Vale NHS. Working closely with orthopaedic consultants in the Cardiff and Vale Orthopaedic Centre (CAVOC), Sarah specialises and has been the clinical lead in lower limb rehabilitation, conditions and injuries. Her ESP role involves assessing and triaging patient for conservative rehabilitation, plus arranging further investigations or surgery.Sarah also assisted in preparing athletes for the Commonwealth Games and is currently completing an MSc degree in Advanced Physiotherapy and a postgraduate course in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation, including strengthening and conditioning.
Jack Knight BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy
Graduating from the University of Gloucestershire with a BSc (Hons) degree in Sports Therapy, Jack gained experience working with Tonga’s international rugby union side during the 2015 Rugby World Cup. He has also worked as part of the medical team for several Welsh Premiership rugby sides, including Bedwas RFC and Bridgend Ravens RFC, as well as Cheltenham Hockey Club.
